“Do you want to do the Spartan Program?”

Do keep in mind that the TR90 kit costs Php100,000 or ~$2,000 with a member’s discounted price of Php70,000 or ~$1,350, no small sum in a third world country like the Philippines.

“Can we afford it? It’s so expensive!” Hazel said.

“That’s okay. We’ll just cut down on eating out and on non-essential purchases.” I replied. “Besides, if it increases our chances to have a baby, then it’s worth it.”

And so Hazel’s Spartan journey began.  We contacted Arnel about how to go about it and we made the necessary purchases. Hazel got her measurements such as weight, BMI, visceral fat, etc. we we have a baseline. When the kit was delivered, we did some groceries that night so that the meals can be started immediately. And as a show of support, I also did the meal plans even if I didn’t do the program. I did benefit but I certainly didn’t get her results.

We were also doing the Naprotech charting as well as acupuncture. You could say that we were going all-out on our efforts to conceive.

Additional benefits in doing the program include lowered blood sugar and cholesterol since the body becomes better equipped to handle them. And I have to admit, after three months, Hazel got her intended results without starving! In fact, she would eat as much, if not more than me, and we would regularly go to buffets to make sure that she got her required protein intake.

It was the first time I was actually comfortable with Hazel doing a weight loss program. And the program is one of the major reasons why we have our little Nixi now.
